Central Valley Joint Venture Riparian Landbird ...

This layer classifies the potential habitat suitability for riparian landbirds in California's Central Valley. It was created to assist with conservation planning in California's Central Valley by identifying areas of high habitat value for riparian landbirds. High suitability sites currently in riparian vegetation should be maintained and considered in the context of regional planning efforts (e.g., they may aid in identifying groundwater-dependent ecosystems considered under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act). High suitability sites not currently in riparian vegetation are good candidates for restoration. Proposed projects that include the restoration of riparian vegetation will have greater habitat utility if they are located near areas with high habitat suitability.
