Marin County Marin

Marin County is engaged in two main sea level rise assessment projects – one along the outer coast (C-SMART) and one along the San Francisco Bay shoreline (BayWAVE). Both efforts are using selected OCOF scenarios to map the potential exposure of natural and built community assets in order to understand shoreline vulnerabilities. An important outcome of the C-SMART process will be an amendment to the Local Coastal Program (LCP), used to guide development and protection of resources in the Coastal Zone. Policies implemented through the LCP will help ensure adaptation occurs in a way that protects coastal resources, public safety, and continued public access to recreational areas. For more information, visit Marin County's SLR website.
