We will monitor birds tied to wet meadow habitat in Unit 12. This data will be linked with plant community composition data to gain understanding shifting population trends over time.The bobolink is a focal species for the Refuge and its habitat is highly tied to flood irrigation. Point counts are an efficient method for monitoring bobolinks and the diverse assemblage of other landbird species. Data will be contributed to the Avian Knowledge Network for use in regional analysis of migratory bird trends.
